| 6 | Patient Engagement - Digital inclusion | Liaising with Sara Smart, Age UK Community Services Manager, based in East Grinstead. CC had previously reported by email that Age UK planned to offer 4 x one-hour digital inclusion courses in EG for patients of Moatfield Surgery in September. Each session could have up to 10 attendees and would cover: • Account set-up: registering, logging in and verifying account • Repeat prescriptions • Accessing and viewing test results • Accessing medical records • Contact with MMS/ NHS: receiving and sending messages • Finding and locating NHS services • Accessing NHS health advice • Navigation of MMS website • Rapid Health The PPG and Age UK EG are keen to do the same for MMS patients. Volunteers from the Committee would be needed to help at the session(s). Two initial locations were suggested: CDHC meeting room and Turners Hill Park. It was suggested that Barbara Sebastian (Patient Services Manager CD), who had offered the meeting room, could be invited to join the DI sub-committee.* ACTION: CC to issue inviteTurners Hill Park was suggested by CM as an ideal 'testing ground' to see how this can work as it has over 250 homes, a 50+ age profile and an available meeting room. It would be a straightforward area to survey, canvass and issue fliers/ posters. These would ask for expressions of interest. Aiming for one session to cover login and the basics of NHS App and Rapid Health. Volunteers: CC, CM, MM, JC, FS, GR Important to assess need and be aware that some will not have the equipment to engage and some may choose not to. Query: does the Rapid Health programme still have dummy 'Minnie Mouse' accounts and, if so, would we be able to access these during training sessions so the problems of confidentiality could be avoided? 📋 Action: ACTION : GR to raise with MMS [17.03]Aim to expand offer following initial run through. Put posters and fliers in surgeries. Care Co-ordinators/ Social Prescribers to be asked to encourage patients they are aware are having problems to express an interest. Seek out EG venues📋 Action: ACTION : GR to research possible venues such as QVH, Age UK or East Court. [17.04]Query: how does the NHS cater for those without smart phones when insisting on access viaNHS App? Digital Inclusion sub-committee to meet to put substantial plan together and report back. 📋 Action: ACTION : CC to organise meeting [17.05] |
| 7 | Patient Association Webinar | re: Digital Inclusion attended by CC. 📋 Action: ACTION : CC to email short report to Committee [17.06] |
| 8 | AGM | In calendar for October meeting. Need to plan and communicate it so patients have the opportunity to attend.
